. The Penumbra has left K-7 Station and the Federation behind to begin its black ops mission deep behind enemy lines in the Breen Confederacy of the Typhon Pact. We crossed that imaginary boundary an hour or so ago at Warp 7 with MIRAGE fully active and sensors on maximum range. We had detected nothing ... until now.
. Sensors have picked up what appears to be a bustling planetary system. Numerous vessels ranging from tiny scout ships through shuttles and freighters and up to full-scale capital cruisers are coming and going between two rocky planets, their two natural satellites, a couple of bases in orbits of the planets, and what appear to colonies or mines in the thin asteroid belt beyond the two planets.
. One of those worlds is heavily populated with large urban cities. The other has a few medium-sized cities and many scattered towns and villages. The Commodore has steered us towards this less populated planet for our first look inside the Breen Confederacy.
